Noses ugh

Postby ewd » Sat Jun 27, 2009 8:26 pm

OK I have had very nice results at softening my skin and making it androgynous using cleanser, toner, moisturiser, sunscreen.

But the one problem I have is my nose....not the shape, the texture. The texture is really deep pored, blothcy, and MALE.

Any tips for noses....it is the bane of my life, it won't look more androgynous. Must I use make-up on it?

You might have to. Concealor, at minimum, should help. It'll make the pores and blotchy less obvious. Maybe powder as well. You might want to buy a few things (concealor, foundation, powder) and experiment to see what gives the best results.

I've never been able to deal with acne. It's probably because I attack it rather than letting it run its course.

I think that putting any kind of concealor or powder would just make the pores more obvious, especially in the kind of situation where you're likely to sweat, ewd. Perhaps you could try addressing the size of the pores by using products suited to tightening them up rather than trying to hide them. I've found Dr Brandt items on Space NK mail order site that might be useful; in the search box on the front page, just put in "pores" and it'll take you directly there. By the way, I wouldn't advise steaming your face as this is likely to open them even further. As for making your nose more feminine, perhaps surgery, as the last resort??? Good luck!

OK I seem to have found something that sort of works.

Basically DIY dermabrasion.

I took to the horrid weathered layer on my nose with a very coarse pumice stone, and am pleased with the results. The horrid red tinged skin and black pores are much reduced, I am now doing some massive post dermabrasion mosituriser therapy.

But looks like simply getting rid of the awful top layer of skin could be the best medicine.
