confusing gender identity and sexual orientation

Postby moosh » Sat Aug 15, 2009 5:20 am

I feel like my gender identity and sexual orientation..is like the weirdest and most confusing thing ever..
I am biologicaly female, and I like butch yet artsy girls..maybe possibly some femme girls. I also like boys, but not straight boys, and not manly men either. I pretty much like really flamboyant gay guys..
right now I'm mostly attracted to girls, but I just KNOW that if I were a boy, that would be reversed and I would be mostly attracted to boys.
I feel like I am a guy, but a feminine guy..
it doesn't really mean much, but I fit quite a few gay stereotypes too, like the fashion and artsy one, and kind of the way I talk.
I really want to have top surgery when I'm older and I want to take testosterone, but only to an extent. I know I don't want a penis..
I guess I kind of feel like a femme bisexual guy trapped in a girls body?

so does anyone else have a gender identity and maybe sexual orientation thats also really complicated?

Femme/genderqueer/lady/godhelpme for my gender, and for orientation...I'm going with fluid for now.

I'm starting to think that most people who claim to understand their gender identity or orientation are lying/not really thinking too hard about it. They are just things which are not simple by nature.

I feel very similar to you, in that I'm a feminine gay guy but in a woman's body. I'm attracted to androgyny and my sexuality can't fit into a box, since I like mostly guys' bodies, but I'm currently crushing on a FtM friend and have previously had some mini-crushes on androgynous girls, so....=P dunno.

I do want a fully male body though.

im a straight androgynous guy who just prefers to mix female and masculine clothes - i was at a pub the other day and it was nearing closing time i heard a couple of guys talking about i must be gay because of the clothes i was wearing... i was wearing a pair of ladies straight leg jeans and and a gothic style sweatshirt, although im not confused about my gender or sexual orientation obviously the guys were until one of them started chatting and soon realised i wernt... i think most androgynes, neutrois, agenders or asexuals etc have to fully know what and how they want to be and present themselves as that as so the general public will find it easier to accept.. with that conversation with the guy we actually got on well - when i heard them talking about me at first saying i was must gay i just laughed it off and didnt mind rather than distance myself and get upset because i feel comfortable who i am and how i want to be..

so EJA, decide how you want to be and stick to it, maybe you should go for gayish boy look, short dyed blonde hair bright and shiny tight shirts and trousers but be masculine.. i dont want to sound stereotypical because im not but gay guys i know are like that..

B-B-But I understand my orientation!

It's single target sexuality with an unknown as of yet target ^-^.

As for my gender identity, pretty sure I'm just a girl. I mean, it really depends on how you define gender identity, and how many modifiers one requires to make it valid :P.

Oh, tell me about it. I'm a female-bodied, panromantic asexual, but recently I've been attracted exclusively to women. I'm especially attracted to lesbians, and I want a lesbian relationship, except... I'm agendered, so I don't feel like a lesbian, even though I could easily pass as a butch one. I feel a bit like those "male lesbians", except I'm definitely not male and I live as a female...

I tend to believe that you are whatever gender you believe yourself to be. Moosh, in you case if you believe yourself to be male, then that's what you should go for. It's ok to be a feminine FtM. She isn't around as much anymore, but we do have a tomboy MtF on here as well.

Oy. Yea...it gets pretty complicated. I'm female bodied, identify as bi-gendered. Which means I have a feminine side (Sara) and a mascline side (Evan) if you'd like to confuse it all the further...Evan is gay male and wishes he could be a fabulous drag queen (which we can't do...as I said. I'm female bodied.) which is to say he's a bit fem and flamboyant. Sara on the other hand is more butch and pansexual (if I fall in love...it's regardless of gender) and we are also polyamorous (loving more than one person at a time) so yea...it's fun!
I personally just like to make it more streamline and say "Hi, I'm Sevan. (Sara+Evan=Sevan) I'm pansexual and polyamorous. Explaining all the spicifics normally gets too confusing. lol
Sara, Evan, and Phe Partner to a wonderful pre-op M2F mate.

Gender and sexuality can be confusing, but mostly when you are coming to terms with it, or are trying to put small human boxes forth to put them in. I'm androgynous, and I tend to be attracted to androgyny, and some females that aren't too fem, but are tomboyish. I like muscular guys, but not if they're too masculine. It's hard to put my gender and sexuality in the small boxes, but I hardly find it confusing, just confusing to explain to people.

Betsey Johnson Fall 2013 Collection Betsey Johnson New York Fashion Week Fall 2013 ELLE
Betsey Johnson Works Out with Her GirlsFebruary 12 2:30 PMby Lauren Levinson 0 CommentsPhoto: ImaxtreeBackstage before her Fall 2013 New York Fashion Week show, Betsey Johnson is running around like a fairy you can't catch. Her devoted publicists attempt to keep her in one place to do some last minute interviews, but the energized 70-year-old is bouncing around in short shorts and leggings throwing colorful confetti at anyone who crosses her path—many of whom are her dear friends, adorable granddaughters, or daughter, Lulu. It's a total party before the show: Hot pink balloons hang in clusters above the clothing racks, and motivational posters are scattered throughout ("Love to my beautiful models, thank you, XOX Betsey" one reads). There's a DJ spinning top 40 hits in one corner and Melissa Ben-Ishay of Baked by Melissa handing out a trio of limited-edition pink cupcakes in another. There's even special Betsey Johnson branded champagne, which we later learn will be included as props during the presentation—the models used them as weights. When we finally pinned Johnson down, she was getting a wig put on for the catwalk, which she will be participating in. "Whoa! I feel like I got a facelift," she says as the hairstylist pulls back her Barbie-blond locks. The theme of Johnson's comeback show was workout wear. The designer choreographed a fitness routine complete with crunches, jogging and the use of props (like stretch bands and boxing gloves). She performed in it with her models on the runway."I wanted to exercise, and I don't do anything," she says. "I don't need much but I was very unfit, so for my reality show I met this trainer guy…I mean it happened over months…I made a video that will be able to be downloaded when the show debuts in April."She Coach factory outlet online opens up Coach factory outlet about why she almost didn't present this season. "When I was working on my aerobic wear, which I really wanted to do, we didn't think it could be done in time," she explains. "But coach factory outlet I said, 'It can be done in time!' And I thought, 'Well, that's what the show concept will be: All coach factory outlet online the girls doing aerobics.'"Is she ecstatic to be back in the tents? Totally. "I realized I was miserable not showing," she says, her voice filled with emotion, eyes wide like a cartoon doll. "Today I found out that so many people were so happy. I didn't know anybody felt bad until I went to my lecture at the 92Y. When I said, 'No, I'm not showing,' the audience was like 'Ohhh.'"So she got to work and proved, once again, that no one puts Betsey in a corner by debuting an on-brand, flamboyant collection complete with neon hues and leopard prints. "The dresses are cool and pretty, and the aerobic wear works," she notes. "It's fun, bright, and stylish. It's night and day. We have the uptown ladies and then we have the gym girls. Read the coach factory outlet program—it's hysterical—there is Miss Park Avenue in the dresses and then the aerobic girls are like Barbell Betty [Laughs]."
