is anyone OK with having the genitalia of there bio-sex, even if it doesn't always/at all line up with the genitalia of your gender expression? its stereotypical to believe that every FtM wants a penis and all MtF wants to cut theirs off, and i just wanted to see if it was true or not.

personally, being female bodied, i don't mind having a vagina because even though i am pansexual, i like guys more and, well, penis A fits better into vagina B than anus C.but, there are days i feel i look down and wonder where my penis is, that something is missing... but this leads me to believe sometimes that i am not really trans but " going through a really long faze"

so, those questioning, post-, pre- and during- transition, i want everyone option!

I actually know a few transguys who are perfectly happy with their current genitalia and/or leaving it after T (so not getting a metoidio-/phalloplasty).

I also know a lot who've accepted they'll probably never get lower surgery even if they would like a real penis. It's next to impossible to get that, phalloplasties aren't perfect and can definitely bankrupt you.

I don't know about women- I know a lot of them get orchiectiomies so they can take lower, cheaper, safer doses of hormones- but I'm not sure how many of htem get the full surgery.

SRS is a bit less common amongst us than the media makes it out to be... It's difficult to give an accurate estimate, but I would say that perhaps about 50% of us actually want the full SRS?

personally I hate that they can't just switch back and forth at whim. I enjoy having and using my penis, but I'd love to have and use a vagina as well. Just as long as I didn't have to always have a penis or always have a vagina. Why can't magic/sci-fi be real yet...

I don't see an issue with wanting to keep your biological genitals, no matter what the reason be. However, seeing that my gender identity would just involve ADDING parts to my anatomy and not removing any, the question is a bit immaterial to me.

As a nonbinary, I have no problem with my bits n pieces. It's more that I want to redefine them. Not see them as male or female. I'm not sure what I see them as. I dunno, but it's not that.

I don't want any genetalia. I feel like that would make sex a problem, and don't have as much of a problem with genetalia in general (M or F) regarding sex, but keeping mine solely for sex purposes would be a bit of a mistake because I'm not having sex the majority of the time.

Although I respect the people who are comfortable enough to keep their genitals, I am not so comfortable. I AM waiting to see if there are any better technologies coming up (especially with it just becoming possible to grow erectile tissue) before I get bottom surgery(also because there is no way I can afford it now) but I will definitely be getting it. I will be starting T in a few weeks(hopefully) and cannot wait for growth and I know that I will be happy with that but like any stereotypical guy I want the biggest penis that I can get without it looking like an abnormal sausage. I would never get a phalloplasty but definitely a metoidioplasty.

thank you everyone for your responses. if medicine had progressed to do so i would have both sets to properly match with what my gender is forming into, but that's not an option, i deal with the cards i got.

I would find it ideal if my sexual bits were detachable so they were only there if I wanted to have sex. I'm pretty fine with mine, but the parts related to reproduction gross and creep me out. They'd be completely fine if they didn't do things that told me I could have kids.

Generally speaking I'm ok with my genitalia. It's on the inside mostly so...that's cool. There are definitly some times that I really feel like I'm missing a penis....but like a number of others here, phaloplasty is totally out of the question for me. Not to mention I'd probably miss my vagina.
I'd like to add that...I'm a big nelly bottom. *blushes* So to USE the penis? Not so very much. Though I REALLY wish I had one. I think maybe....I want it more than I'm willing to let on.....cuz I'm not going to get one, and even if I did it wouldn't work like I'd want so....it would be fruitless. *sigh* (in current medical options...that is to say.)

I'm not fussed too much about either, and I don't do sex- at 37, I'm sure of that. Taking the penis away and just leaving the urethra would suit me best.

My breasts are too large and prevent male passing, but otherwise I'm fine with my genitals. They're better than anything modern surgical techniques could give me, at any rate, and since I'm not more male than I am female it'd be difficult to know what to replace them with.

Going without genitals isn't an option because... well, they're fun.

Well, I don't like my breasts, and surely will remove 'em via surgery.

However, I am not really... "emotionally attached" to my lower organs. But I am scared of the risks that come with a lower-body transition... and I don't think I'd want a penis, as there really isn't a safe way and convenient way to get a penis like the one god took from me.

I'm definitely cool with having a vagina. Mostly because it's such an amazing source of pleasure. I'd like to have a bigger cock/clit, but the other organs down there are just fine! The only times I've been not ok with being touched there is when my body dissonance was already being triggered hardcore by some other event (usually omg... I smell like a girl, not right).

So I get where you're coming from. and yes, vagina>anus in certain respects. (lubrication ftw)

note: anyone who doesn't feel comfortable should totally be able to get surgery, though, the number of hoops I see is amazing. I'm glad I don't have to jump through all of them.
