Documentaries on LGBTQ

Postby Dave » Tue Jun 28, 2011 11:22 pm

I love watching documentaries and I figure that it's a nice way for people to learn. I use Netflix so all the ones I'm listing are available on instant queue (or at least were at one point...I can't guarantee they won't be removed).

1. The Butch Factor. This documentary is about being a gay male who is stereotypically masculine as well as one FtM and how being "male" is different from life as a female.
2. For The Bible Tells Me So. This documentary features various pastors and priests who speak on what the Bible actually says regarding homosexuality and how current interpretations are not only wrong, but hateful and harmful. Also featured are families with lesbian and gay children and how they dealt with the information.
I'll respond to anything but am partial to chief.

"Life hands everyone shit. It's what you choose to do with that shit that determines if you're happy."
"Complacency is a shitty reason to be miserable."

Just watched Trained in the Ways of Men
sad sad documentary about Gwen Arojo(sp)

Best line from the movie was when they asked men and women on the street if they were a man or a woman and followed with "How do you know that?"

People had a surprisingly hard time answering. Seems like a good way to start an argument with someone whose being annoying, because you can always find an example that disproves their reasoning.

Virtually all of them are. One of my favorite, Red Without Blue, is not on instant view although it used to be.
