I think the bigger crime here is a society that still creates parents that teach their kids that they should SEEK OUT EXORCISM if they are gay. On two levels, first nothing wrong with being gay, second exorcism isn't real.

Aside from the glaring subject of dressing as another gender not having anything to do with who you're sexually attracted to, the way they say it is horrible.

Does he want to do it or does he already do it of his own free will? If he was already doing it, it was his choice, why in the world would he do something he believed to be morally wrong(not saying it is, considering my own situation) and knew that his friends and family would find highly immoral? that makes no sense at all. If he was already doing it, either he was being forced too against his will, or they're making up the part about him wanting to stop.

Brings back memories..

When I was a teenager, a friend got me to start going to his dad's church (his dad was senior pastor there). Apparently, a few months later, my friend told his dad and the youth pastor that I was cross-dressing.. which of course they thought meant I was involved in witchcraft (???) and other such activities which "invited demons in to your life". Watching them try to pray the demons out of me in a small back room in church was.. pretty ridiculous.

Later one time at a christian summer camp, I had to actually kick a door open (those old horizontal lever doors? remember?) because they locked it so the kids couldn't escape until they'd all been prayed for (I had to use the restroom). Evenings like that usually lasted late in to the morning hours, with kids on the floor convulsing and "speaking in tongues" and "prophesying".

It was really easy to get sucked in to the moment and become hysterical. Even after I stopped believing, certain "powerful" services could make me shake and shiver, and on one occasion I was knocked to the floor by someone and, even though I felt fine, couldn't find the strength to stand back up. I'd just wobble and shake and fall back over. I've had a friend more than once have a seizure and need resuscitation during a service (my poor friend Karen.. a head injury had made her epileptic).

What scares me is that it might actually be true. This kid really might hate themself for being queer and at the same time hate themself for being heteronormative.

You see, some of these kids have been brought up on a Brady Bunch fantasy since before they could crawl and they really, really want it to be true. Then something like puberty happens it all goes wrong and they hate themselves. It's plain sad.
