Highschool so far

Highschool so far

Postby Sunny » Tue Oct 19, 2010 10:04 pm

So I'm a high school freshman and it's like 3 weeks into school and stuff
It's been pretty good so far. I've semi-come out to lots of my friends but they don't seem to be taking it seriously. They also don't take my religion seriously (buddhist). Or anything I say. Can't really blame 'em though, I tend to say some pretty ridiculous stuff.
but my gender has been "mistaken" like 4 times so far, which always puts me in a good mood. :) wish it happened more often though
I'm having a lot of trouble explaining non-binary gender to my friends. According to them, "gender is determined by genitals" is the most holy and unquestionable truth in the universe. But I guess stuff like that should be expected from 14 year olds. :(
so yeah

Yeaa 14 year olds generally aren't too accepting of that sort of thing (or anything, really). Just let em think what they want. As long as they aren't harassing you or giving you trouble, then that's the best you can hope for for now.

3 weeks in? Wow your school starts late.

Sorry to hear your friends aren't taking you seriously. There's not a whole lot you can do if they aren't willing to learn. One of the most frustrating things about one of my friends is that she refuses to learn anything to do with sexuality or gender - she says it's another language that she has no interest in. @.@ At least she is respectful, or at least tries to be.
